The News-Gazette's Athletes of the Week: Harmon, Jamison shine for the Rockets
· Yahoo Sports
Jun. 8—Harmon, a sophomore, played a pivotal role in the Rockets advancing all the way to the Class 2A Monticello Sectional championship game. Mainly because without his contributions during a regional semifinal game against St. Thomas More on May 27, the Rockets likely only would have played one postseason game. Harmon went 2 for 3 with a triple, two RBI and scored the game-winning run during Unity's 3-2 walk-off win against STM.

"It definitely means a lot to win Athlete of the Week and that the community took the time to vote for me, but I wouldn't be in this position without my coaches and teammates. I appreciate everyone who supported me. What was key offensively for me was sitting on the fastball and having a good two-strike approach."

With Unity trailing 2-0 and down to its final strike against Robinson in a Class 2A Monticello Sectional semifinal game on May 27, Jamison, a sophomore, delivered when it mattered most. Her three-run home run in the top of the seventh put the Rockets ahead 3-2, helping Unity eventually earn a 4-3 win in eight innings.
"It feels good to be recognized for what I did, and I'm just thankful that there's people who voted for me. I just feel like that's what Unity does. The home run still feels unreal because it was down to the last strike. It was an insane moment, and I'm going to take that memory with me forever."
