WTA Queen’s Club Qualifying Best Bets Including Heather Watson vs Beatriz Haddad Maia
· Yahoo Sports
WTA Queen’s Club qualifying concludes on Sunday. While the Roland-Garros men’s singles final takes place in Paris, the women of the WTA Tour will dive into the beginning of the grass season with qualifying for the WTA 500 event in England. As everyone knows, grass season is the shortest season of the year. Players generally get two weeks to prepare for Wimbledon. They might play three weeks in some cases, but most players will take one week off, either the first week after Roland-Garros or the week just before Wimbledon. Time is short, and opportunities are limited to get ready for Wimbledon. Queen’s Club will give a lot of players an opportunity to get some match play on grass. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

Hunter – Sasnovich: Time 7:00 ESTH2H: 0-1
Storm Hunter faces Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Both players are ranked outside the top 120 and inside the top 200. Sasnovich is ranked close to 70 spots higher, however, which establishes her as the clear favorite in the betting markets. Since this is the very start of grass season, these two players and others in the qualifying rounds of Queen’s Club do not have a grass record this season. This is their first grass match of the year. Therefore, there’s no recent track record to go on. The bet is based on past grass history and overall form.
Best Bet to Make
Storm Hunter is not an excellent tennis player, being ranked just under 200, but Aliaksandra Sasnovich has been a very inconsistent player, both recently and overall. She hasn’t had an especially impressive tournament at any point in 2026. She is struggling and is therefore likely to drop at least one set in this match, even if she wins. You could fold Sasnovich moneyline into a parlay, but for a single bet, Hunter +1.5 sets is the play to make, with the set bet being one of the most evenly-priced props in this match.
That being said, betting on Hunter +1.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Ruzic – Ito: Time 7:00 ESTH2H: 1–0
Antonia Ruzic faces Aoi Ito. Ruzic is ranked No. 64, Ito No. 234. However, Ito has a grass win this year at Birmingham (a WTA 125 event) last week. This will be Ruzic’s first grass match of the year. Ruzic made the second round of the main draw at Roland-Garros, while Ito could not get out of qualifying for Roland-Garros. However, Ruzic doing better on clay than Ito did is not necessarily an indicator that Ruzic will be better on grass. Sometimes better players are superior no matter what the surface is, but other times, the specific surface can change who is actually better.

Ito has a slice-heavy game. She likes to hit the ball low and without a lot of speed. That is a style that is good for grass. Ruzic is the clear betting market favorite because of her much higher ranking and generally better results in recent weeks, but Ito might be more suited to grass than her opponent. You could put Ruzic moneyline into a parlay, but for a single bet, Ito to win a set looks solid, and you will get a good price for it.
That being said, betting on Ito +1.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Watson – Haddad Maia: Time 7:00 ESTH2H: 0–2
Heather Watson faces Beatriz Haddad Maia. This is not an easy match to handicap. Watson has been playing hardcourt challengers in Asia instead of playing any clay matches in recent weeks. Haddad Maia played the European clay swing, meaning that she was playing the more important tournaments against generally better players. Neither player has had a whole lot of success recently. Watson is 4-4 in her last eight matches while Haddad Maia is 2-6. However, as noted above, Haddad Maia has been facing better competition by playing tougher tournaments in April and May.
Best Bet to Make
Haddad Maia has been struggling this year. Watson is a much lower-ranked player (outside the top 300) but will be playing in front of her home fans in England. This feels like a close match. You could go with over 2.5 sets. However, you could also create two betting tickets. One play would be to fold Watson +1.5 sets into a parlay at 1.55. It’s a decent parlay price but not a bet you want to go all-in on in a standalone wager for bigger dollars since your return is not fantastic. While you consider that parlay, your standalone bet can be Haddad Maia moneyline. She plays better players and should therefore be more prepared for the match. The average odds have Haddad Maia moneyline priced at a modest 1.62, but one sportsbook has her at 1.81. Jump on that one.
That being said, betting on Haddad Maia winning is a value bet for sure.
