There's one thing the Miami Dolphins really haven't used in recent years.

With Malik Willis now as their quarterback, that could change.

The tush push could be coming to Miami Gardens.

Willis, the free agent signing from the Green Bay Packers, is a strong and mobile QB. He's made for designed runs from the quarterback position.

He certainly possesses skill in that regard that the likes of Tua Tagovailoa and Quinn Ewers did not.

New head coach Jeff Hafley told reporters this week that the tush push is coming to the Dolphins:

“It’s hard to stop, so get good at it and do it. I mean it’s really hard to stop. So as long as it’s a legal play, we need to figure out on defense a way to stop it. And with a quarterback like we have with Malik, and some big guys up front, maybe we can get good at it.”

The Dolphins' offense is going to look quite different in general. Their wide receiver depth chart is depleted, and quite brand new.

They still have De'Von Achane, so between him and Willis, they're going to have to put a lot of pressure on defenses directly from the backfield.

There is a huge advantage for any offense that can easily pick up gains in short-yardage situations, though, and the tush push allows for that.

With Willis, the Dolphins may finally have an edge in those spots that they didn't necessarily have before.
