Michigan football had an incredible month of May when it came to assembling the 2027 recruiting class. The expectation is that June will continue to see the positive forward trajectory with official visits now underway.

One prospect who had been somewhat off the radar until recently has been 2027 Katy (Tx.) Tompkins four-star cornerback Blake Jenkins. But Jenkins, who is set to make his pledge to his school of choice on Thursday evening, appears to be trending maize and blue.

On Wednesday, three recruiting insiders at Rivals -- The Wolverine's Ethan McDowell, SMU insider Billy Embody, and national insider Sam Spiegelman -- put in predictions that Jenkins will choose to commit to the Wolverines once he makes his decision public on Thursday.

Here is the scouting report from 247Sports' Gabe Brooks:

- Natural man corner with size and athleticism to match up with outside targets.- Willing tackler with a lean, wiry frame that can add mass to enhance finishing strength.- Attacks the screen game.- Displays sudden athleticism in press situations, whether covering short-to-intermediate routes or turning and running downfield.- Ideally would see more ball production, but capable of finding the ball in the deep third.- Frame, athleticism, and technique excel in press coverage, but room to improve awareness in off and zone situations.- Forward-playing conviction vs. perimeter run and screen games can periodically cause some less-than-ideal pursuit angles.- Live evaluations have been strong in multiple scenarios.- P4-caliber corner prospect who owns the potential to become an island technician.

Jenkins is listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and is choosing between Michigan, Alabama, Texas, SMU, and Vanderbilt. He will make his decision public on the 247Sports YouTube channel at 8 p.m. EDT.

Michigan already has one other commitment in the 2027 class from the greater Houston area in defensive tackle Xavier Muhammad, who was also a quick pledge with little hype prior to his commitment. Jenkins is rated highest by ESPN, which has him as the No. 198 player in the country. Rivals' proprietary ranking is lowest, having him graded as a three-star.
