One Chelsea player and one reportedly pending new Chelsea player have both been confirmed to make the Argentina World Cup squad.
The biggest football competition in the world is now right around the corner and kicks off next month, as the excitement builds up around it once again.

It only happens every four years, so for a player to be called up to play at the World Cup is a HUGE thing. If they miss out, they know they have to wait another four years, and for most players who play the game, they will never play in this competition.
So you can imagine the excitement of Valentin Barco and Enzo Fernandez last night, as it was officially confirmed that both players have been called up for the Argentinian World Cup squad this summer.
Barco to Chelsea is ‘here we go’

Fabrizio Romano had already reported the ‘here we go’ deal agreed for Chelsea to sign Barco from their sister club Strasbourg a couple weeks back now. So effectively, even though it’s not been officially confirmed by anyone yet, Chelsea might have two players in the Argentina squad this summer.

Mike Penders had a good season for Strasbourg and has been picked for the best under 23 team in Europe’s top 5 leagues. He is up alongside some other top names such as Kenan Yildiz.
Chelsea were close to signing Leipzig’s in demand winger Yan Diomande after a trial a few years ago, and now probably wish they had done. Right, who said not to him then? Own up!
