Texas women's golf: Farah O'Keefe becomes the Longhorns' first NCAA champion in 29 years

On Monday, Texas junior Farah O'Keefe won the individual title at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif. While shooting a 12-under, 276 over her four rounds at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, O'Keefe beat Stanford's Megha Ganne by two strokes.

An Austin native who attended Anderson High, O'Keefe joins Heather Bowie (1997) and Charlotta Sorenstam (1993) among UT's individual champions in women's golf. Bowie and Sorenstam has both been inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor.

An NCAA championship is the latest addition to O'Keefe's resume. The Big 12 Player of the Year as a freshman and a WCGA All-American in 2025, O'Keefe has now won four tournaments this year (Therese Hession Regional Challenge, Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, Betsy Rawls Invitational and NCAA Championship). During her junior year of high school, O'Keefe led Anderson High to a state championship while also earning an individual title at the Class 5A tournament.
