Are the additions that the New England Patriots made to their offensive line this offseason the best moves that the franchise made above every other position group?

According to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, the work that Patriots have done to upgrade their offensive line following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL season outweigh all of the other moves that they’ve made to their roster.
“Wolf did a good job of adding more talent to the line this offseason,” Barnwell said. “The Patriots traded Bradbury to the Bears and moved Wilson to center, where he played during his lone season as a regular at Georgia.”
The Patriots drafted swing tackles Caleb Lomu and Dametrious Crownover to offer support behind left tackle Will Campbell and right tackle Morgan Moses, the latter of whom is nearing retirement.
New England also acquired star guard Alijah-Vera Tucker in free agency, which enabled the team to move Wilson to center.
The Patriots have one of the most heralded offensive linemen in this year’s draft class in Lomu, along with another who has established a name for himself in the league in Vera-Tucker, who they did not have last season. Both have been added to a core that has remained largely intact.
More high-level contributors on the offensive line will only work to the advantage of Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who threw for over 4,000 yards last season and led the NFL in completion rate at 72 percent.
The only other position that the Patriots addressed with as much focus was defensive end, by signing Dre’Mont Jones in free agency and drafting highly-touted edge rusher Gabe Jacas this year. However, the Patriots’ offensive line will prove to be vital for them next season.
