‘Black-owned’: Gabrielle Union reveals what she loves about South Africa

US actress Gabrielle Union has revealed the many reasons why she loves South Africa.

Like many international stars, the American leading lady has frequented the country, particularly Cape Town, on vacation.
GABRIELLE UNION PRAISES CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
On her Instagram account, Gabrielle Union, who is married to retired NBA player Dwyane Wade, shared pictures and clips of her recent trip to Cape Town, South Africa.
The US actress revealed that she last visited the country in 2022 for her 50th birthday. Whilst here, she planted grapes at the Klein Goederust, which have since been harvested and made into wine.
Gabrielle praised the owners of the “black-owned winery”, posting: “Coming back and seeing how much the winery has grown and transformed since then, and getting to taste the fruit of our labour, was really special.
“What they’ve built here is truly incredible… and somewhere along the way, the owners and their families became like family to us too 🍷”
The US star also revealed her favourite things about South Africa, which included
- Klein Goederust, the “only black-owned winery in Cape Town”
- “Gorgeous beaches and sunsets”
- AKJP, a fashion store in Cape Town that sells local designs
- “Filming a fun project with friends”
- “The penguins”
- Thebe Magugu, a South African fashion designer

Gabrielle Union was not the only US actress singing South Africa’s praises.

Viola is a Grammy-winning star who has been filmed in SA on multiple occasions and has also posted several viral clips featuring South Africans.
