Mississippi State baseball vs Georgia SEC Tournament game time changed due to weather

HOOVER, AL — Mississippi State baseball's SEC Tournament quarterfinal game against Georgia has been moved up due to weather.

First pitch between No. 8 seed MSU (40-16) and No. 1 Georgia (43-12) will be at noon CT on May 21 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. The game was originally scheduled for 3 p.m.

The other May 21 quarterfinal game between No. 4 Alabama and No. 5 Florida will be 30 minutes after.

Both games will air on SEC Network, with the winners playing May 23 in the semifinals.

Mississippi State run-ruled No. 16 Missouri 12-2 in seven innings in the second round on May 20 with an eight-run sixth inning. Vytas Valincius hit two home runs in the sixth, and his older brother, Tomas, pitched six innings, with one earned run allowed.

Georgia received a double bye in the SEC Tournament. MSU got swept by Georgia in April at Dudy Noble Field.
