Cleveland Browns' rookie KC Concepcion made quite the statement over the weekend. He showed up at the annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere but did so not wearing the number 17, but sporting the number 1.

It was a surprise to Browns' fans as everyone expected running back Quinshon Judkins to switch back to his college number in his second year after he announced a number change from 10. He and the rookie came to an agreement, and Concepcion landed with the number one.

Now, the number 1 is typically reserved for one of the best players on the team. This is quite the statement that is being made by Concepcion, so much so that NFL legend Chad Johnson weighed in on X.

He posted, "Heavy is the crown wearing that uno. Give 'em hell."

Only the top guys have access to the number. The first, and most obvious one, is Super Bowl-winning quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts has been sporting the one for his entire career as he quarterbacked the Philadelphia Eagles back into NFL relevance.

The other biggest name wearing it is the Green Bay Packers' edition of Micah Parsons. After being traded from Dallas to Green Bay, Parsons reserved the number and made sure that it was all his.

From a pass catches perspective, only the best get the number. The headline here is, obviously, JaMarr Chase. Chase has been the best wide receiver in the NFL ever since his rookie year. He and Joe Burrow have developed quite the chemistry, and he makes it look good.

Some of the other popular names are Malik Nabers, Deebo Samuel, and Jameson Williams, just to name a few.

Each one of those players is more than just a solid contributor to their teams. When healthy, all of these guys can make plays and do it on a regular basis. Concepcion is hopeful to join that list starting right away.

Concepcion is such a fascinating prospect. He has all of the tools to be a great receiver in this league, except that he lacks natural hands and a natural catching ability. He finished his college career with 185 catches for 2,218 yards and 25 total touchdowns.

If he were a smooth catcher, he would have been a top-10 pick. Instead, he fell, but fell into Cleveland's lap.

He spent the first weeks of Rookie Minicamp sporting the number 17, which wasn't a horrible look for him. Once he came out in the Rookie Premiere, he put the crown on his own head. Now, his only responsibility is to live up to the hype of his other peers sporting the digit.
