There are certain guys in Major League Baseball who everybody knows are stars, though it doesn't feel like they get as much attention as they should.

To me, the one player who really sticks out is Yordan Alvarez. Everybody knows that Alvarez is one of the best players in the world and one of the best hitters the game has ever seen, but he doesn't get as much attention as he probably should.
Interestingly enough, that's probably due to playing with a Houston Astros team that just hasn't been playing as well as it typically does.
It sounds like that could be changing, though, as it was recently reported that he could be a potential trade candidate, and the New York Yankees need to be all over that.
“If that happens, the buzzards will be circling, with teams asking what it will take to pry away first baseman Christian Walker, all-world closer Josh Hader, All-Star shortstop Jeremy Pena, third baseman Isaac Paredes and yes, even DH Yordan Alvarez,” Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote.
When I look at the Yankees roster, I see a team that is very good when healthy. However, the Yankees have had questions in the outfield over the past year or so, and are currently trying to get a feel for some young guys out there.
Alvarez isn't the cleanest fit defensively, but his bat would instantly make the Yankees' lineup the best in baseball if he swings it how he typically does, and that's worth the risk. It probably effectively ends guys like Spencer Jones and Jasson Domínguez from playing in the future, but Alvarez is so much better than those two guys that it shouldn't be viewed as a bad thing.
