Three notes from LSU baseball's Game 2 loss at Georgia
· Yahoo Sports
LSU baseball gave Georgia a run for its money on Friday night, but the Tigers were not as competitive in Game 2, falling 13-8 in a game Georgia controlled the entire way. UGA scored eight runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back. Starting pitcher Marcos Paz allowed seven of those runs. With the loss, the Tigers lost the series. Game 3 will be Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.

LSU only has one series left before the SEC tournament. They will welcome the Florida Gators into Baton Rouge on Thursday and try to get some more SEC wins to boost their resume. The odds are slim that LSU is able to make it into postseason play, but the odds aren't zero.
Here are three takeaways from LSU baseball's Game 2 loss to Georgia.
One horrible inning again
We have seen this story many times this year. LSU will have one bad inning that will doom them. This time it was the second inning. The Dawgs scored eight runs against the Tigers, and the game was pretty much over at that point. This is one trend from this season that I am tired of seeing.
Too many free passes
I brought up the high number of walks LSU issued in Game 1 against Georgia, and now I have to bring it up again. The walk numbers were even worse in game two as LSU pitchers combined to walk 13 hitters while only striking out four. Paz and Danny Lachenmayer combined for eight walks in four innings.

Chris Stanfield entered the game as a pinch hitter with two runners on base, and he came through with a three-run homer to cut the lead to 12-7 in the eighth inning.
