“On Saturday, April 25, 2026, a couple watched as a red Honda Accord purposely drive over a group of baby ducklings on Tempest Street on the Westside, turning her vehicle around multiple times to hit them,” the Sherriff’s Office posted on Facebook.

“The couple confronted the woman a few days later, and she told them she intentionally killed the ducks because she was upset they made a mess in her yard.”

The couple shared surveillance video of the woman running the ducklings over. The video shows the ducklings dead in the street, with the mother and two surviving ducklings running as the Honda drives toward them, police say.

Investigators tracked the car down to the owner, 64-year-old Beverly Sasberry. Police pulled her over and after an interview, they arrested her and charged her with 11 counts of felony cruelty to animals.

‘She just wants to kill more’

Neighbour Kyle Hutchinson, who witnessed the alleged incident, said he confronted Sasberry after the incident and she allegedly told him she was upset that the ducks had left droppings in her backyard, according to local news .

“She just kept saying that she just wants to kill more. It’s literally what she said a few times. ‘I’ll do it again. I’ll do it again,'” he said.
