One of the most notable way-too-early rankings for the 2026-27 college basketball season has been released, and the Spartans are listed near the top of country.

Here's a look at the top 25 rankings from Bart Torvik -- courtesy of College Basketball Report:

Michigan State has been listed as a regular top 10 team in the way-too-early polls this spring -- I don't think I've seen a single one where they aren't ranked in the top 10. So this spot is no surprise for Michigan State, but it's interesting to see them near the bottom of the top 10.

We have a long way to go before the next college basketball season is here, but it's clear that the Spartans are going to enter the season as one of the top teams in the country. Let's hope they can live up to the hype, considering the Final Four is in their backyard in Detroit next April.
