Michigan football makes five-star Joshua Dobson's top five

Michigan football just closed out spring ball with the annual spring game, which also saw a bevy of recruits make it to campus. The Wolverines had many five-stars at the game, but most of them were of the 2028 or 2029 variety.

One who didn't make it, as he was down in Baton Rouge, was 2027 Cornelius (N.C.) William Amos Hough five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, the No. 6 player in the country, according to Rivals. But, even as he's trending to LSU, Dobson revealed his top five, and it does include the Wolverines, along with the Tigers, South Carolina, Auburn, and Texas A&M.

As of yet, he has no reported visits to Ann Arbor, and though there's not an official visit on the books, it should be expected that he will eventually make it to campus.

Here's the scouting report from 247Sports' Andrew Ivins:

-Speedy zone corner with a wiry frame that can race into the deeper third.-Not only has tested in the upper percentile, but has turned heads in a camp setting with his quick feet and smooth transitions.-Gains depth with ease while in reverse.-Keeps his eyes on the prize and will get to the catch point.-Not a ton of ball production as a junior, but has flashed ball skills on offense.-Lacks meat on the bones and added bulk would go a long way in run support.-Dangerous as a return man with his acceleration (3 career kickoff return touchdowns) and profiles as a potential ace gunner given how he runs.-Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Four level that can man the perimeter in a quarters-heavy scheme.

The Wolverines are in on only a few five-stars, and Dobson may be one of a few who is of the consensus variety in 2027 at the moment. Michigan is working to flip Georgia cornerback commit Donte Wright, and is also in good standing for defensive tackle Marcus Fakatou.
