The Philadelphia 76ers are on the road on Tuesday night as they travel to take on the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of their first-round NBA Playoff series.
For the 76ers, they enter Tuesday’s game trailing 0-1 in the series after losing on the road to the Celtics in Game 1 on Sunday afternoon.
Now Philadelphia will try to bounce back on Tuesday as they look to steal a victory on the road and tie the series at 1-1 before heading home for Game 3.
While the 76ers are looking to pick up a key victory on the road in Game 2 on Tuesday night, they may be without one of their star players due to injury.
76ers rule out Joel Embiid for Game 2 against Celtics
For the 76ers, they have only one player listed on their injury report for Tuesday’s game as they have ruled out star center Joel Embiid.
Philadelphia has ruled out Embiid due to post appendectomy surgery recovery that has kept him out since April 9.
With Embiid sidelined, Adem Bona and Andre Drummond will likely continue to have increased roles until the star center is cleared to return while the 76ers will likely rely on Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and V.J. Edgecombe to carry the load offensively.
While Embiid does remain sidelined for Game 2, it was reported that he began a strength and conditioning program on Monday, though it still remains unclear whether the star big man will be able to play in the first round of the playoffs.
Fans can catch Game 2 of the first-round series between the 76ers and Celtics from Boston on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. ET on Peacock.
