Durham Regional Police said the alleged incident happened on April 9 between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. inside a male changeroom at the Dianne Hamre Recreation Centre on Rudell Rd.

They said a male suspect allegedly pulled open a privacy curtain shielding a 12-year-old who was showering at the time. Police said the victim closed the curtain, but the suspect allegedly kept opening it repeatedly.

Police said the victim left the shower and was allegedly followed by the suspect, who tried to talk to the youth. The victim then fled from the changeroom and told a waiting parent.

Eugene Gareau was arrested on Saturday and charged with secretly observing/recording a nude person and exposing genitals to a person under 16 years old for a sexual purpose.

Police said they are concerned there may be other victims.

4 people charged after Oshawa armed robbery

Durham Regional Police have charged three men and a woman after a male victim was robbed and threatened with a firearm over the weekend in Oshawa.

Police said officers responded to an armed person call Saturday at about 6:30 p.m. in the Stevenson Rd. N.-Rossland Rd. W. area, where the victim was supposed to meet a friend when he was confronted by two people.

They said the victim was assaulted, had cash stolen and was threatened with a firearm before entering a residence.

Police set up a perimeter upon arrival and arrested three suspects when they exited the residence a short time later. A fourth male suspect remained inside for “several hours” before finally leaving and being arrested.

No physical injuries were reported and cops allegedly seized four imitation firearms after executing a search warrant at the residence.
