It is always dangerous to judge players too harshly after a loss to Bayern Munich. The gap in quality, depth, and experience often exposes even very good Bundesliga players. That said, matches like this can still serve as a measuring stick—especially when it comes to earning a place with the Germany national team ahead of a major tournament like the FIFA World Cup.

Stiller might have the strongest case of the three. His composure on the ball and ability to dictate tempo from deep positions are qualities Germany has been searching for in midfield. Even in defeat, those traits tend to stand out more than flashy moments. The question is whether he can assert himself against elite pressing sides consistently, something Bayern Munich forced him to confront.
Führich is a more complicated case. His directness and creativity in wide areas are undeniable, but international football often demands end product over flashes. Against top-level opposition, the margin for error shrinks. If he cannot translate his dribbling into goals or assists in big matches, he risks being edged out by more clinical options in Germany’s attacking pool.
Mittelstädt, meanwhile, may actually benefit from positional scarcity. Germany has been searching for stability at left-back, and while he was tested defensively, simply being a reliable, fit option could keep him firmly in contention. His ability to contribute going forward without being a liability at the back will be key.
In the end, one bad result against Bayern Munich should not define any of them. But it does highlight the level required. If the World Cup started tomorrow, Stiller and Mittelstädt might be closer to the squad than Führich — but all three still have work to do to prove they belong on the biggest stage.
