Fresh off a run to the College Football Playoff National Championship, things are looking bright for the Miami Hurricanes. With a rejuvenated program under head coach Mario Cristobal, Miami may have found some of its mojo to remain among college football's elite.

A huge part of the Hurricanes' success came defensively, with a stingy group that suffocated teams. That said, the offense did its part. Scoring 30.9 points per game last year, the Hurricanes hung up 31 points in eight games and exploded for 40 or more points in four games.

The offense is built by offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, who has been with the Hurricanes since 2023 and figures to be there even longer, with a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel coming out that he and the school have agreed to a new contract spanning multiple years.

During the 2024 campaign, Dawson had a high-powered machine on offense led by the eventual No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, quarterback Cam Ward. Miami averaged 43.9 points per game and totalled a whopping 537 yards per game offensively.

Shannon Dawson will enter 2026 with Darian Mensah, the former Duke quarterback, who is among the most highly anticipated talents of this upcoming season, at the helm.
