The dust has settled on Saturday’s fixtures, and Chelsea are looking ahead to their game against Man City later today.
The situation with just a handful of games to go across the league is tight from top to bottom. For a long time Chelsea have been looking up at the teams above them as they try to break into the top 5 and stay there. Right now, there’s almost as much threat coming up behind.
Chelsea face race to the final day even with a good result again City
Liverpool’s win over Fulham moved them ahead of us into the Champions League places, and in turn knocks Fulham out of contention. Brentford and Everton drew, which means they’re both just one point behind us.
Aston Villa face Nottingham Forest today knowing a win and a Chelsea loss moves them an almost unassailable 9 points clear with 6 to play.
Our one hope was Liverpool’s dire form, and we have to hope they slump again. A win against Man City would be huge, but a defeat doesn’t rule us out entirely. One thing we can’t afford is to get our morale broken with a big defeat.
