TORONTO MAN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT
A 31-year-old Toronto man has been charged with underage sex offences after being accused of assaulting an underage female victim.
Toronto Police said the human trafficking enforcement unit began investigating a sexual assault in March after the accused contacted the victim through an online advertisement.
Police said the victim then went to the accused’s home and there was an alleged exchange of cash for sexual services.
They said the accused then allegedly assaulted and sexually assaulted the victim, while preventing her from fleeing. She was eventually able to escape, but had her belongings stolen.
John Edward Kikiantonis was arrested on Thursday and charged with forcible confinement, sexual assault with choking, sexual assault causing bodily harm, robbery with violence and two counts each of obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years and trafficking in a schedule I substance.
“Investigators believe that there may be more victims, who are encouraged to contact police,” a Toronto Police news release issued Tuesday on behalf of the sex crimes unit said.
