Huge Kane boost: "90-10" chance of starting for Bayern in Real Madrid showdown

After missing Bayern Munich’s 3-2 win over Freiburg at the weekend due to an ankle knock, England international Harry Kane has returned to team training ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash with Real Madrid.

According to German football outlet Kicker reporter Georg Holzner, who is in Madrid covering the game, Kane is almost certain to start, with the reporter giving him a “90-10” chance of being in the lineup at Santiago Bernabéu.

FC Bayern coach Vincent Kompany addressed Kane’s situation at his pre-match press conference on Monday evening, noting that a final decision on his availability will be made on Tuesday.

“It was important that he did a lot of training today. I don’t think he has lost his rhythm. We’ll wait until tomorrow and then decide," said Kompany.

“Harry knows how important this match is. He must also say whether he's ready to start. We'll see how it goes tomorrow."

Team lineups are expected to be announced roughly an hour before kick-off, with the match scheduled to begin at 21:00 CET.
