Media reactions to Michigan basketball crushing Arizona
· Yahoo Sports
Well, it was supposed to be the game of the century in college basketball, but Michigan basketball wasn't about that life. The Wolverines led wire-to-wire against fellow 1-seed Arizona, in what ended up being a 91-73 drubbing that, honestly, wasn't even that close.

The game was so lopsided that as we compiled media reactions, we didn't simply look for what was posted after the Final Four matchup was done -- because most of the best reactions came in with half of the second half remaining.
Nonetheless, there were a ton of big reactions now that Michigan has ousted Arizona from the NCAA Tournament. Here are our favorites from the national media, including a few from some notable former Wolverines.
Jeff Borzello
Michigan's 18-point margin of victory is tied for the largest in an NCAA tournament game between 1-seeds since seeding began in 1979, per ESPN Research. https://t.co/lkISQbXZ2P

Good lord have mercy. @umichbball is kicking @ArizonaMBB’s ass. Superior guard play. Superior shooting. Superior Toughness inside and out. This is pure domination. I honestly can’t believe how lopsided this is. Arizona doesn’t look like they belong on the same court. And Burries…

Michigan currently leads them by 27 with 12 minutes left in the game.
This is an absolute beatdown of the KenPom #1 team in the sport.

Against a team ranked number one in the AP Poll for most of the season.
Who was also ranked a top 5 team in the history of KenPom.
And we just clowned them.
42 years of watching college basketball and have never seen anything like this.

OSU dodged a bullet with Dusty May. Not sure if Jake Diebler will be great, but May’s claim to fame is a lucky postseason run last year. You had never heard of him before that. And don’t forget, FAU got to play 16th-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson in the 2nd round.

(This is posting word-for-word what an Ohio State beat reporter posted when May was hired, for those who aren't terminally online.)
Clay Travis
Michigan is completely obliterating an incredibly good Arizona team. Looks just like the Tennessee game last weekend. UConn is going to have to play a spectacular game to keep it close.

Michigan is just a machine. What a team Dusty put together.

Arizona won a program record 36 games and Michigan only got 14 minutes out of Yaxel Lendeborg --- one of the top two players in college basketball this season --- due to injury.

It didn't matter.
The Wolverines win by 18.
And it wasn't nearly that close. https://t.co/RMraFO6Em0

The other two?
1. Florida (2006-2008)
2. Ohio State (1960-1961)

This looks like the Michigan team that beat Gonzaga and San Diego State by 40, and Auburn by 30 in Las Vegas back in November.

MSU beat reporter Graham Couch
The NCAA tournament is about matchups. UConn was a tough one for MSU - and Illinois and everyone. Have to wonder if the Spartans had won a couple games at the Big Ten tournament and grabbed Purdue’s path, if they’d be in this game tonight.
