It is no secret that in an ideal world, the Washington Commanders would add another quality weapon for Jayden Daniels before the season starts.

We have seen the Commanders take a receiver in several mock drafts, but the general thought is that Washington could look to free agency to find a weapon.

And for most, that is San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who is expected to be released after having fallen out with the 49ers over the rehab of his knee injury.

And here comes Bleacher Report's Moe Moton, naming the Commanders as a logical landing spot for Aiyuk.

"The Washington Commanders are the most logical match for Aiyuk, who played with Jayden Daniels at Arizona State in 2019," Moton wrote. "That year, with Daniels under center, Aiyuk led the Sun Devils with 65 receptions for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns.

"With a former teammate and an upstanding veteran who plays his position on the Commanders roster, Aiyuk would have the support and structure around him to be a productive, premier receiver in Washington."

Commanders in odd WR position

There is a clear need for a standout No. 2 receiver, but Washington has reportedly made it clear it isn't waiting on Aiyuk. If a receiver pops up on their radar in free agency or the draft, the franchise will take them.

So, while the rumors of Aiyuk coming to Washington haven't stopped, it is clear the franchise has no interest in shelving plans in the hope he becomes available, most likely after June 1.

Trey Burks has been touted as one player who could take the next step for Jayden Daniels, but that won't fill fans with too much confidence.

Either way, these rumors show no signs of slowing down and likely won't stop until Aiyuk is a Commander or lands on another team.
