Woods was booked on driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit a lawful test charges Friday night at Martin County Jail in Stuart, Fla. He has a court appearance scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 23 at the Martin County Courthouse in Stuart.

The affidavit, obtained from the Martin County Sheriff's Office, said Woods told deputies he was looking at his cellphone and changing the radio station and didn't realize that the truck in front of him had "slowed down" before his black Land Rover hit a trailer being pulled by the Ford F-150 on Friday in Jupiter Island, Fla.

Woods then lost control of the Land Rover and it flipped flipped on its driver's side. No injuries were reported. The trailer suffered an estimated $5,000 worth of damage, sheriff's deputies said.

One deputy wrote he observed "several signs of impairment" when speaking to Woods after the crash. Another said Woods was "sweating profusely" while sitting in the back of a vehicle, which had cool air flowing. Deputies also observed that Woods' movement was "lethargic and slow" and "limping and stumbling."

Woods advised them that he previously underwent seven back surgeries and more than 20 operations on his leg when asked if he had any medical conditions.

Once Woods removed his sunglasses, a deputy observed that his eyes were "bloodshot and glassy" and his pupils were "extremely dilated."

Woods, who recorded a 0.00 reading on a breathalyzer test, told deputies he did not consume alcohol Friday. He also said he had taken prescription medication Friday morning.

The pills described in the report as M367 are a combination of 10 milligrams of hydrocodone -- a moderate to strong dose -- and 325 mg. of acetaminophen.

Woods later failed to accurately follow instructions on several field sobriety exercises.

"Based on my observations of Woods, how he performed the exercises and based on my training, knowledge, and experience, I believed that Woods normal faculties were impaired, and he was unable to safely operate the motor vehicle," sheriff's deputy Tatiana Levenar wrote in the affidavit.

Another officer searched Woods and located two hydrocodone pills inside his left side pants pocket.

Woods, 50, was placed under arrest at about 3:12 p.m.. He was held for eight hours at Martin County Jail and released that night.

The encounters with Woods were captured on body, car and DUI room cameras and submitted as evidence.

Woods, who returned last week from a 13-month competitive golf hiatus, had said he planned to be on-site for the 2026 Masters Tournament and was "trying to make progress" toward competing in the tournament.

His status for the first major of the golf season is now in limbo. Officials from CBS, the broadcaster of the event, said Monday during a conference call that they have not been advised of Woods' playing status.

"As for Tiger playing or not playing or being in Augusta or not being in Augusta, we don't have information," CBS Sports President and CEO David Berson told reporters, according to Sports Illustrated. "And it's not fair to anyone for us to speak about it or speculate. We just won't do that.

"He and his team are going to have to be the ones who speak about it. It's only fair if that's the case. So, we hope you'll respect and appreciate that, but we just really don't want to speculate on something."

The 2026 Masters will be held April 9 to 12 in Augusta, Ga.
