Andy Roddick fires back at comments made about Carlos Alcaraz after Miami exit
· Yahoo Sports
Patrick Mouratoglou said that Carlos Alcaraz seemed bored after his recent loss to Sebastian Korda in the third round of the Miami Open.
Mouratoglou told the Men’s Tennis Podcast: “My feeling is that [Carlos] Alcaraz is bored. The guy already has seven Grand Slams, and I feel like playing Masters 1000s; he’s won so many already, he’s not that interested. That’s really a feeling that I have.”

The comment got a lot of attention, with some fans agreeing and others disagreeing. Andy Roddick, who used to be ranked number one in the world, has now shared what he thinks about what Mouratoglou said.
Andy Roddick thinks Alcaraz being called bored is clickbait

“I don’t want to know who said it because I want to react to the content…” Roddick began.
He continued: “By the way, also I’m sure there was no respect to Seb Korda with that analysis, or any other player that ever beats Carlos Alcaraz.
“No disrespect to [Daniil] Medvedev, because you’re bored when you’re playing a former number one and Grand Slam champion, no disrespect to the field at all…
“I’d say that’s a really hard opinion to commit to unless you actually know something.
“I think it’s borderline disrespectful to tennis earth, and players, and someone who is nine in the world and beats Alcaraz.
“If I’m [Daniil] Medvedev and I see that, I might get CTE from my eyeroll!
“To me, that’s ridiculous. Without knowing it feels thirsty for clicks.”
Mouratoglou’s take has clearly divided opinions. But what does Alcaraz’s season so far really tell us?
Carlos Alcaraz can return to winning ways in Monte-Carlo
No matter how you look at it, saying Alcaraz is bored doesn’t hold much weight given how he’s started 2026.
This year he already has two titles from four tournaments played. He has more points than anyone else in men’s tennis this season.
If this is him being bored as some have claimed this week then we are in for an incredible season once his focus returns!
