GTA trio face 26 charges in human trafficking probe; Man sought in Toronto break-in

Two men and a woman, all from the GTA, are facing numerous charges following a lengthy human trafficking investigation.

In May 2025, Durham cops began investigating reports of a female being groomed into escorting with allegations she was threatened with physical violence and forced to work in the sex trade across Durham Region and the GTA.

In March 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at Pickering residence and two men and one female suspect were taken into custody while several drugs, a loaded firearm, and prohibited overcapacity magazines were located and seized.

Jeffery Earle Shirley, 47, from Pickering, is facing 16 charges, including five trafficking-procuring offences, five firearm-related offences, four drug trafficking offences and two counts of breach prohibition order.

At the time of his arrest, Shirley was already bound by a weapons prohibition order.

Taylor Daniel Eibbett, 36, of Oshawa is facing nine charges, including five trafficking-procuring charges and four drug-related charges.

Amanda Lee Partridge, 34, of Pickering is charged with material benefit over 18.

Police have concerns there may be further victims and have released photos of the accused.

TORONTO BREAK-IN

Toronto Police are requesting the public’s help identifying a man wanted in a break and enter.

On March 4 at around 8 a.m., police responded to a call for break and enter at an apartment building in the Broadview Ave. and Danforth Ave. area.

It’s reported that after the suspect gained entry into the building, he forced entry into a unit and stole personal belongings.

The man is described as approximately 30 years old, wearing a light-coloured jacket with fur on the hood, green pants and brown shoes.

His image has been released.

MARKHAM ROBBERY

York Police have charged a 46-year-old Whitby man and are seeking two more suspects in connection with a Markham robbery.

On Wednesday, around 8:40 p.m., cops responded to the report of a robbery in the area of 14th Avenue and Birchmount Road.

Cops say the victim was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects who demanded his satchel and a struggle ensued during which the victim was assaulted and his satchel was stolen.

The suspects fled in a silver sport utility vehicle being driven by a third suspect.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Whitby and the suspect was arrested and charged and police recovered a quantity of currency.

Alden Nunes has been charged with disguise with intent and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Investigators are still seeking two unidentified suspects.

One suspect is described as black male approximately 5-foot-10, with a medium build and last seen wearing a black hoodie, black Air Force 1 shoes and a mask. There is no description for the suspect driving the suspect vehicle.

OSHAWA STABBING

Durham Police have charged a 24-year-old Oshawa man in connection with a stabbing.

Cops say on Feb. 26, around 10:40 p.m., they responded to a call in the area of Celina Street and Bruce Street when the victim, walking with a friend, was stabbed after being approached by three suspects who started a verbal fight.

On Thursday, officers located one suspect and following a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody.

At the time of the stabbing, the accused was already bound by a weapons prohibition.

William Taylor Hayes is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possess weapon for committing offence, and two counts of breach probation.

WOMAN CHARGED

A 42-year-old Courtice, Ont., woman has been charged after a vehicle hit three firefighters who were assisting with a collision in Uxbridge.

On Nov. 16, 2025, at about 7:40 p.m., Durham cops and members of the Uxbridge Fire Department responded to a crash in the area of Wagg Road near Old Highway 47, involving a transport truck and pick-up truck.

While emergency crews were assisting with this crash, a Hyundai SUV lost control, hitting three firefighters and the driver of the transport truck, before crashing through a fence and into a tree.

A 42-year-old female is charged with three counts of careless driving cause bodily harm. She was issued a court summons to attend Provincial Offences Court.
