Browns NFL free agency: Grading the signing of DE A.J. Epenesa
· Yahoo Sports
Free agency continues for the Cleveland Browns, and general manager Andrew Berry has added more depth to the defensive line after the team lost Cameron Thomas, who joined Kevin Stefanski with the Atlanta Falcons. The Brownssigned former second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, 54th overall, in 2020, A.J. Epenesa.
Epenesa joins a talented defensive line and is likely the defensive end four behind Myles Garrett, Alex Wright, and Isaiah McGuire, a pretty talented and deep group. Last year in Buffalo, he had 28 total pressures and 2.5 sacks, playing 223 pass-rush snaps.

What Epenesa Brings to the Browns
In 2024, he had 6 sacks for Buffalo after back-to-back 6.5-sack seasons for the Bills in 2022 and 2023. Just like every other pass rusher that joins the Browns, he will get even more one-on-one opportunities with Myles Garrett, and he has the talent to capitalize on those opportunities. It's a depth signing. They aren't bringing in a superstar, but he is high-quality depth, is an upgrade over Thomas, and helps round out the room.
