UK’s University Of Sheffield Signs 4+1 PG Pathway Agreement With Vellore Institute Of Technology’s Three Campuses In India

UK: The University of Sheffield has announced a new 4+1 postgraduate progression agreement with three campuses of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), providing Indian students with an opportunity to pursue a master’s program in the UK after completing their undergraduate studies in India.

The agreement covers VIT Vellore, VIT Amaravati, and VIT Bhopal. It allows students to study four years at VIT and then transition directly into a postgraduate taught (PGT) programme at Sheffield.
“This agreement marks an important step in our partnership with VIT, providing students with a seamless pathway from undergraduate study in India to postgraduate opportunities at Sheffield,” said Louise McCarthy. She added that the collaboration aims to support students’ academic ambitions while giving them international exposure and preparing them for global careers.

Programme structure
This program allows a smooth transition from undergraduate to postgraduate study by providing a clear route for academic progression:
Students will be required to undertake a four-year undergraduate degree at VIT
Students will then be required to undertake a one-year Master’s program at Sheffield
Students will be required to undertake two separate awards: a UG degree from VIT and a Master’s from Sheffield
It will offer a smooth transition into postgraduate study with early engagement opportunities
Eligible students will be able to receive a 10% scholarship on postgraduate tuition fees
Applications will be made through our standard PGT admissions route
