Man, 65, accused of sexually assaulting teen boy in Oakville; Scarborough cannabis shops busted

A 65-year-old man from Simcoe County has been arrested by Halton Regional Police following alleged sexual assaults against a teenage boy last year.

Police said an investigation began on Thursday into incidents of sexual assault involving the male victim, which allegedly occurred in Oakville in November 2025.

Following a quick probe, cops arrested Darrell Baudoux, of New Tecumseth, and charged him with three counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference, and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Police noted the accused was on a prior form of release for similar offences at the time of his arrest.

Investigators are concerned there may be additional alleged victims as Baudoux has had previous contact with children as a youth leader, cops said.

A photo of the accused has been released by investigators.

SCARBOROUGH CANNABIS SHOPS BUSTED

Five people from Toronto have been arrested following a police investigation into allegedly unlicensed cannabis dispensaries in Scarborough.

Toronto Police said officers from the 41 Division Major Crime Unit executed search warrants between Feb. 26 and March 2 at various addresses.

Cops allege that all accused individuals were located inside an unlicensed cannabis dispensary working as an employee.

Officers allegedly seized a variety of items including large quantities of dried cannabis, pre-rolled marijuana joints, hash, THC vapes, THC bathing products, psilocybin chocolate bars, cannabis-infused edibles, cartons of unstamped cigarettes, and Canadian currency.

Chyna Miron, 22, Luna Muller Menezes, 31, Niraj Shrestha, 22, Andwele Earle, 37, and Dre-Awn Eubank-Lebeque, 25, are all charged with possessing illicit cannabis, adult distribute cannabis over 30 grams, possession of cannabis for purpose of distributing, possession for the purpose of selling, and sale of unpackaged, unstamped cigarettes.

Miron is also charged with unlawful possession of a Schedule III substance and possession of Schedule III substance for trafficking.

MAN CHARGED IN YORK REGION SHOOTING

A 34-year-old Pickering man has been charged following an investigation into a shooting at a residence in Whitchurch-Stouffville.

York Regional Police said officers responded just after 9 p.m. on Feb. 12 to reports of gunshots on Harold Ave., in the area of 9th Line.

When officers arrived at the scene, a house was found with damage due to gunfire, cops said.

No injuries were reported.

Following an investigation, police said a search warrant was executed Wednesday at a Pickering residence and a man was arrested.

Pirasanna Balasubramaniyam was charged with two counts each of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and uttering threats, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.

ARREST IN AJAX GAS STATION ROBBERY

A 26-year-old man is facing numerous charges after a gas station in Ajax was robbed Thursday morning.

And at the time of his arrest, Durham Regional Police claim the accused was in violation of nearly 20 probation orders for similar offences.

Police said officers responded at approximately 7 a.m. to a robbery call at 225 Salem Rd. S.

According to police, a man entered the gas station and made threats toward an employee while going behind the counter and stealing products. The man fled the area before cops arrived.

No employees suffered any physical injuries, police said.

Officers managed to identify a suspect and locate him a short distance away. He was taken into custody, cops said.

Police allege investigators subsequently linked him to multiple theft incidents.

Leroy Marufu is facing numerous charges including robbery, possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer, five counts of theft under $5,000, and 19 counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

BURLINGTON TOW TRUCK ARSON

Police in Halton have launched an arson investigation after a tow truck was found engulfed in flames in Burlington late last month.

Halton Regional Police said its officers and Burlington firefighters responded on Feb. 26 at approximately 2:45 a.m. to a fire involving a tow truck parked on Morris Dr. near the intersection of Harvester Rd.

According to police, the truck was hauling a flatbed trailer that was loaded with an orange Hitachi excavator. Both the cab of the truck and the excavator were fully engulfed in flames.

Investigators have determined the fire to be an arson.

Three suspects were seen in the area in a dark-coloured pickup truck, cops said.

Investigators have released photos of the vehicle.

Police are asking anyone who may have dash cam footage from Harvester Rd. and Morris Dr. area between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. to contact investigators.

DOG FOUND SHOT TO DEATH IN CLAREMONT

A dog was found shot to death in Claremont last November and investigators are searching for at least one suspect.

Durham Regional Police said at least one suspect entered a kennel between 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 14. located on a residential property in the area of Sideline 20 and 8th Concession Rd.

“The dog was later located deceased by its owner after succumbing to its injuries,” police said.
