Helen Zille has defiantly claimed that the Democratic Alliance will not be removing its party billboard trolling Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.

The billboard was erected in Pretoria this week, and depicts Lesufi’s controversial comments about showering in hotels amid the Johannesburg water shortages.

On her X account, Helen Zille revealed that the ANC had served the DA with a letter of demand, threatening action if the party did not remove its billboard trolling Panyaza Lesufi.

Located in East Lynne, Pretoria, the billboard featured an AI-generated image of the Gauteng Premier, scratching his head while under a shower.

It featured the tagline: “The ANC showers in hotels while you have no water”.

It added: “Vote DA to put water in your taps.”

Helen Zille – the DA’s Joburg mayoral candidate – unapologetically tagged Lesufi in her tweet, accompanied by a shower-head emoji.

Responding to the legal demand, the 74-year-old tweeted: “The ANC served legal papers, demanding the removal of our billboard. They argue it’s insensitive, misleading & that Lesufi’s image was created using AI without his consent.

She continued: “‘Insensitive’ is boasting about hotel showers when taps are dry for everyone else. We WILL NOT remove it.”

On the DA’s X account, the party continued to troll the Premier with a popular internet meme.

PANYAZA LESUSFI TROLLS ‘DRUNK’ MAYORAL CANDIDATE

Meanwhile, Panyaza Lesufi has tried his own hand at throwing shade at the opposition.

On his X account, he posted a poster featuring an image of Helen Zille drinking a bottle of beer at the Soweto Derby over the weekend.

He clapped back: “Who would vote for a forever drunk wannabe mayor?”

He shadily added, “Stop obsessing over Panyaza. We know he’s your crush, Gogo!”

Helen has since clarified that the beer was non-alcoholic.
