The Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback situation entering the offseason is a tough thing to get a read on.

Aaron Rodgers is still looming as a choice, so too young Will Howard, with Mike McCarthy having a reputation for developing young quarterbacks.
But which avenue will the Steelers go down? They aren't likely to truly contend with either Rodgers or Howard, but we know that Rodgers has a ceiling. We know nothing about Howard, so why not try him out?
Well, for ESPN's Seth Walder, his 2026 quarterback prediction for Pittsburgh will give fans something to think about -- he's gone with Rodgers.
"I don't think Rodgers' return is a foregone conclusion, but Mike McCarthy's introductory news conference pushed me to thinking it will happen," Walder wrote. "But I suspect the Steelers won't have the appetite to rebuild or take a flier on an unknown QB. So they'll try to re-create the Packers of yesteryear, with Rodgers and McCarthy at the helm."

Is Rodgers the answer?
There's no denying that Rodgers gives Pittsburgh the best chance to win, but he is likely a short-term option.
At 42, whether or not he goes around again in 2026 is unknown. But for Howard, he hasn't gotten his chance yet, so why not let McCarthy mold him into the quarterback he wants?
I'm not sure how Steelers fans would feel about another go-around with Rodgers, especially after some of the offensive performances of last season. If Howard did that, fans would be more willing to look past it, at least initially.
What Pittsburgh does is unknown, but I'm not sure going forward with Rodgers is the way to go.
