· Yahoo Sports
It's been just one year since Michigan basketball won something of note in the Big Ten, having won the conference tournament a year ago. But it's been five years since the Wolverines won the Big Ten regular season outright.

Tuesday's win against Minnesota didn't just put the maize and blue a step closer; it truly put them in the driver's seat.
With the 77-67 win over the Golden Gophers, Michigan basketball won at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title, with three games remaining in said regular season.
Final: Michigan 77, Minnesota 67.

Wasn’t pretty for a while, but that really doesn’t matter. The Wolverines (26-2, 16-1 Big Ten) have clinched a share of the Big Ten Championship in year two under Dusty May and have three chances to win it outright.

It wasn't easy to get there on Tuesday. Despite the Wolverines being the superior team on paper, Minnesota gave them all they could handle for the first 30 minutes of the game. Cade Tyson was electric from downtown, making Michigan's job of putting the game away that much tougher.
But eventually the maize and blue flexed their muscle, hitting four-straight 3s on a 12-2 run, thus securing at least a shared banner for the season, if not an outright one in the 2025-26 season.
The strong likelihood for the maize and blue, barring a complete collapse in the final three games (against Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan State), is that the Wolverines will be the top overall seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament, meaning that Michigan will start play on Friday, with the tournament beginning on a Tuesday.
