Broncos' Success Can Be Attributed To Best Tackle/Guard Duo In NFL

The Denver Broncos were electric to watch throughout the 2025 season despite it ending in a rough low-scoring effort against the New England Patriots in the American Football Conference Championship.

It depends on who you ask, but most would probably tell you that the Broncos would have been playing in the Super Bowl had quarterback Bo Nix been healthy, and who knows, they could have fared better against the Seattle Seahawks and walked away with rings.

Unfortunately for Denver and their fans, that will remain a crushing hypothetical. And yet, it seems like the Broncos are just getting started and seem destined for a dominating run as one of the AFC’s top teams for years to come.

A huge reason for that is the insanely talented offensive line, the top-ranked unit by Pro Football Focus (PFF). That group was led by two first-team All-Pros, left tackle Garett Bolles and left guard Quinn Meinerz.

The duo of Bolles and Meinerz was outstanding and kept Nix out of harm’s way on the left side all season long. Bolles was graded as the fourth-best tackle in 2025, earning a PFF rating of 90.4, and didn’t allow a single sack in pass protection.

“Bolles was also masterful in the run game with an 82.3 PFF run-blocking grade and a 12.4% impact block rate,” PFF’s Bradley Locker wrote Thursday.

Bolles had some stiff competition at the tackle position but was still able to grade inside the top five. Meinerz also had stiff competition at his position but narrowly took home the top spot as the best guard in the National Football League.

“Part of the NFL’s highest-graded offensive line, Meinerz continued to separate himself with his 2025 performance,” Locker wrote Friday. “His 88.9 overall PFF grade was the best of his budding career, marking his third straight season with at least an 83.7. Meinerz’s 21.1% impact block rate was the second-best among guards, and he gave up only three sacks on 798 pass-blocking snaps.”

Meinerz uses his strong base to plant himself firmly in the ground and become a brick wall in front of Nix. His control in the trenches is unmatched, and his quick hands and feet keep defenders in front of him. Meinerz is known for his tenacious presence on the field and always gives it his all, something his teammates praise him for.

Meinerz signed a massive four-year, $80 million contract extension before the 2024 season and it’s safe to say the Broncos have gotten everything they have wanted and more from the All-Pro thus far.
